  • Thermally Modified Poplar S4S Boards

    Thermal modification is a specialized process where wood is heated (using steam) to a very high temperature to transform it on a molecular level into a highly-durable outdoor material. Thermal Modification turns the wood to a beautiful chocolate brown color, which indicates that the wood has reached the proper temperature (around 400-410⁰ F). At that point, the wood undergoes a fundamental change where the sugars and starches caramelize, making the wood a non-food source.

    BauBuche is a laminated veneer lumber made from locally sourced beech manufactured exclusively by Pollmeier. BauBuche is produced in a completely new, yet highly economical process. Peeled veneer layers of 3 mm in thickness are parallel- or cross-laminated and turned into beams, boards, panels and flooring elements. With its exceptionally high strength BauBuche allows structures with significantly slimmer dimensions, compared to softwood materials.

    MSFP operates a radio frequency edge gluer that can produce flat custom butcher-block or plank-style tops or panels.  A maximum width of 50” and limited in length only by the length of the lumber (16’ for most hardwood species).

These are available in a full range of species and grades on a variety of core types with some items available in UV pre-finished.     Our lumber department provides an expansive inventory of domestic and imported hardwood lumber in a variety of species. Also available are several softwood lumber species. Most items are available in stock in various thicknesses from 4/4 through 8/4 with some species available in 10/4, 12/4 and 16/4.

    The online Molding Catalog complements our printed catalog. Moldings stocked in our warehouse are listed as ‘Stock’ profiles and are available in one or more species. Most profiles are stocked in Red Oak or Poplar. In addition, some profiles are available in Cherry, Hard Maple, Mahogany, etc. Other profiles shown and many other molding profile knives exist in our Molding Profile Library. These profiles and custom profiles can be custom-milled with a minimal set-up charge.

There are a variety of different types of wire baskets and closet pole brackets that fit into the boring system or use the ShortCutz drawer program to make your own drawers.
